Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, warmly received the new Palestinian Ambassador to Somalia, Dr. Rowaid Adil Mohamed, at his office today.
Speaker Abdi Hashi congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment, emphasizing Somalia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s quest for self-determination and their right to establish a recognized state that represents them, which is essential for peace, stability, and prosperity.
In response, Ambassador Rowaid expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and congratulated Somalia on its recent election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He noted that this achievement would benefit the Palestinian people and expressed confidence that Somalia would represent their cause and support their quest for freedom.
Finally, the Speaker wished the new Palestinian ambassador success in his role and encouraged him to strengthen the fraternal ties between Somalia and Palestine.
