Mogadishu, SONNA — Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre visited the headquarters of the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission in Mogadishu on Wednesday to observe the commission’s daily operations and assess its progress in preparing for upcoming elections.
During the visit, the Prime Minister met with commission officials and discussed the challenges and opportunities in implementing fair and transparent elections across the country. He assured the commission of the government’s full support in facilitating their needs, particularly in providing robust security measures to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.
“The government is committed to assisting the commission in conducting transparent and fair elections that uphold the trust of the Somali people,” said Prime Minister Hamza. “Security will remain a top priority to protect the integrity of the process.”
The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the Federal Government’s dedication to strengthening Somalia’s democratic institutions and ensuring the independence of the electoral process.
