DHUUSAMAREEB, Somalia – The Vice President of Galmudug State, Mr. Ali Dahir Iid, officially concluded the Somalia Humanitarian Forum (CHF) today, an event organized by the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) to address the pressing humanitarian situation in the country. The forum took place in Dhuusamareeb, the capital of Galmudug State.

The gathering brought together a diverse array of key stakeholders to confront the country’s humanitarian challenges. The focus of the discussions was on adapting to the impacts of La Nina, bolstering resilience efforts, and revising the Humanitarian Response Plan (HNRP) for 2025.

Throughout the forum, the significance of collaboration among various entities, including government agencies, UN bodies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and civil society, was repeatedly emphasized. These efforts aim to enhance preparedness and response strategies to better serve those in need.

In his closing remarks, Vice President Ali Dahir Iid emphasized the importance of the forum’s discussions and reaffirmed the commitment of leaders and participants to find lasting solutions and support the most vulnerable populations.

The event saw participation from several notable figures, including Mr. Mohamud Ma’allin Abdulle, the Commissioner of the Disaster Management Agency, representatives from the Federal Government, Ministries of humanitarian from Federal Member States, the Khaatumo Administration, the Banadir Region, and the leadership of the Galgaduud Region. Additionally, leaders from donor organizations, local, and international entities were also in attendance.

The Somalia Humanitarian Forum serves as a critical platform for addressing the country’s humanitarian needs, fostering cooperation, and driving concerted efforts to mitigate crises and enhance resilience across Somalia.
