Mogadishu, Somalia – December 7, 2024 – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hamsa Abdi Barre, today unveiled the Somali Justice System Strategy 2025-2029, under the theme “Building an Equal Justice System with Transparency, Access, and Accountability.” This pivotal strategy marks a significant milestone in the nation’s efforts to establish a robust and equitable justice system.
Addressing a gathering of distinguished officials and stakeholders, Prime Minister Barre emphasized the strategy’s foundation on citizen-centered justice, particularly aimed at supporting vulnerable groups such as women and children. “Justice plays an integral role in all facets of life—economically, socially, in security, and in leadership. It is tied to the rights and truths that must be upheld without bias based on color, clan, or power,” the Prime Minister asserted.
Prime Minister Barre also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs for their dedicated efforts in developing the National Strategy. He called on the judiciary to serve the Somali people impartially and to avoid actions that could lead to bias or abuse of power.
