Mogadishu, Somalia – November 21, 2024 – The Council of Ministers of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, in its regular meeting today, approved the proposal from the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development to appoint Dr. Abdisalan Abdirahman Mohamed as the Director General of the National Statistics Agency.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, included discussions on various critical issues, including national security, the conservation of agricultural fertilizers, and the development of health services in the country.
Dr. Abdisalan Abdirahman Mohamed’s appointment is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of the National Statistics Agency, which plays a crucial role in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of statistical data essential for informed decision-making and policy formulation.
