Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received United Nations Under-Secretary-General Rosemary A. DiCarlo at the Presidential Palace.
The meeting focused on further strengthening the longstanding partnership between Somalia and the United Nations, while exploring ways to accelerate UN efforts in support of Somalia’s priorities.
Under-Secretary-General DiCarlo commended the Somali government’s remarkable progress, including the significant strides made in the fight against Al-Shabaab, and reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to supporting Somalia’s vision of achieving universal suffrage and democratic governance.
