Prime Minister Hamsa Chairs South West Council of Ministers Meeting in Baidoa

Baidoa, SONNA – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, led a pivotal meeting of the South West Regional Council of Ministers in Baidoa. The session emphasized the critical need for enhanced cooperation and the bolstering of essential services within the South West region, with a strong focus on political, economic, and security issues, as well as the intensified efforts against Al-Shabaab.

President of the South West Region, Mr. Abdicasis Mohamed Hassan (Laftagareen), delivered a comprehensive report on the social and living conditions in the area. His presentation highlighted key areas such as security, politics, economy, and the ongoing battle to eliminate Khawarij groups.

Prime Minister Hamsa emphasized the importance of robust collaboration between the Federal Government and the South West region to ensure the success of development and liberation initiatives. He reiterated the government’s commitment to liberating the country from terrorism, particularly in regions where peace, development, and stability are under threat.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed his government’s dedication to strengthening economic and security measures, with a special focus on defending the nation’s independence and unity. He lauded the people of the South West for their significant contributions to the government’s efforts.

This meeting marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to foster stability and development in the South West region, reflecting the government’s resolve to address the challenges posed by terrorism and to promote a secure and prosperous future for all Somalis.
