Mogadishu, Somalia – The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has officially announced the schedule for the 12th-grade national examinations for the academic year 2023-2024. The examinations are slated to commence on June 22, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the educational calendar.

This year, an estimated 37,200 students are poised to take part in the certificate examinations across the nation. The Ministry has emphasized that substantial changes have been implemented in the examination process, including stricter regulations to ensure the integrity of the exams.

In a statement released by the national media, the Minister of State for the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Higher Education, Noura Mustaf Mukhtar, highlighted the government’s commitment to conducting the examinations for the first time in regions recently liberated from Khawajirta. This move signifies the government’s dedication to expanding educational opportunities to all corners of the country.

The Ministry has taken full responsibility for the preparation and secure distribution of examination materials to various sites throughout Somalia, including the Banadir region and the member states of the federal government. The focus on security and accessibility underscores the importance placed on education as a cornerstone for the nation’s development.

As the examination date approaches, students across Somalia are gearing up for what is considered a pivotal step in their educational journey. The successful administration of these exams will not only reflect the resilience and progress of the education system but also pave the way for the next generation of Somali leaders and professionals.
