Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre, participated in an agreement to unite some of the electricity companies in Mogadishu, so that the public can get cheap, powerful and reliable electricity.

Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, pointed out the importance of getting sufficient electricity service in the country, which can be afforded by the general public.

The Prime Minister said that this agreement leads to great opportunities that can change the country’s electricity, which gives opportunities to Somali businessmen.

“The government establishes these rules and policies to create an open market system for businesses to compete in improving and diversifying their services, and reducing losses, all of which lead to economic self-sufficiency and productivity growth,” PM Hamza added.

The Prime Minister noted that the electricity companies pay special attention to places of public interest and places of worship, which are always required to have constant electricity.

The agreement, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Water of the Government of Somalia, was signed by Banadir Electric Company, BlueSky Energy and Mogadishu Supply.
