Mogadishu, SONNA – In the early hours of the morning, as the city of Mogadishu awakened to the joyous celebrations of Eid al-Fitr, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, along with government officials and a multitude of citizens, gathered at the Islamic Union Mosque for a communal prayer marking the end of Ramadan.
The mosque, which stood as a beacon of unity and faith, welcomed thousands from across the city, including Speaker of the People’s House, Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, ministers, and members of parliament, who stood shoulder to shoulder with the people in a powerful display of solidarity.
President Mohamud took the opportunity to address the congregation, extending his warmest Eid greetings to the Somali people. He expressed his heartfelt wishes for the year ahead, hoping it would bring peace, prosperity, and health to the nation. In a call to action, the President emphasized the importance of supporting the weak and vulnerable within the community, reflecting the true spirit of Eid al-Fitr.
