Addis Ababa, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended the African Union Leaders Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
During his address to the meeting, the President called for collective steps to be taken to establish effective mechanisms for addressing the emerging peace and security crisis across the continent.
The President denounced Ethiopia’s recent actions, specifically the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Somaliland, a region within Somalia, to gain access to the sea. He characterized this move as an annexation of another country’s territory, which he deemed “unconstitutional, illegal, and unacceptable.
