Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi
met with representatives of the Somali Chamber of Commerce to address the reduction and cessation of exporting single-use bags, recognizing their significant environmental impact on Somalia.
Minister Khadija said, “Today’s discussion with the Somali Chamber of Commerce centered on curbing the utilization and international distribution of disposable bags, due to their adverse environmental and wildlife impacts”.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is dedicated to ensuring the involvement of Somali entrepreneurs in addressing ecological challenges and the effects of climate change.
