Mogadishu, SONNA – Somali National Army (SNA) and local forces launched a major operation against al-Shabaab in the town of Aad. The operation, which lasted for eight hours, resulted in the liberation of the town and the death of more than 80 al-Shabaab fighters, according to the land forces commander Gen. Dayah Abdi Abdulle.
Gen. Dayah confirmed the outcome of the operation to Somali National News Agency (SONNA), saying that the SNA and local forces inflicted heavy losses on the militants.
