Mogadishu, September 05, 2023 – The meeting of senior officials of the first Somalia-Ethiopia Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) kicked off on Tuesday in the capital, Mogadishu, which will last from September 5 to 7 to strengthen mechanisms for political, economic and social cooperation.
Hamza Adan Haadoow, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, made a remark at the meeting during which he emphasized that Somalia is working to deepen its ties with its neighbor Ethiopia In order to gain mutual benefit on all levels.
For his part, Director General of African Affairs at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Amb. Fisseha Shawl, stated in his remarks that the meeting will serve as a strong springboard for enhancing bilateral ties in all sectors and exploring a wide range of areas of cooperation, expressing that the relationship between the two countries is a brotherly forged by blood.
