Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA – China has donated $150,000 to the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) to help recently liberated areas from Al-Shabaab terrorists and drought-affected Somalis.
The donation was handed over to SoDMA Commissioner Mohamud Maalim Abdulle at the agency’s headquarters in Mogadishu on Sunday by Chinese Ambassador Fei Shengchao.
The donation will be used to provide food, water, and other essential supplies to drought-affected Somalis. It will also be used to support SoDMA’s efforts to provide relief and assistance to those in need.
In addition to the donation, Ambassador Shengchao and Commissioner Abdulle discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between China and Somalia in the areas of disaster management and aid distribution.
The donation from the Chinese government is a significant step in the cooperation between Somalia and China in addressing issues related to disaster management and aid distribution. It is also a testament to the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
