Jame’o, SONNA – The Somali National Army successfully dismantled a roadblock and terrorist hideout in the Jame’o area of Bay region, where Al-Shabaab militants had been attempting to blockade local residents. During the operation, at least 15 militants, including three leaders, were killed on Thursday evening, according to Deputy Information Minister Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala. “The roadblocks were completely destroyed and public transport that had been blocked was released,” he confirmed to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA).

This was the second operation in 24 hours on the road connecting Mogadishu and Baidoa, particularly between Lego and Burhakaba, where Al-Shabaab terrorists had been attempting to disrupt public transport and harass local residents. In response to these attempts, the army has initiated operations targeting Al-Shabaab roadblocks and blockades that were impacting the local population.

The Somali National Army has been working tirelessly to protect its citizens from the threat of terrorism. These recent operations demonstrate their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the Somali people. The successful dismantling of the roadblock and terrorist hideout in Jame’o is a significant victory in the ongoing fight against Al-Shabaab.

The recent operation by the Somali National Army in Jame’o is a testament to their dedication and effectiveness in combating terrorism. The successful dismantling of the roadblock and terrorist hideouts is a significant achievement that will help to improve the safety and security of local residents. The Somali government and its people are grateful for the efforts of their brave soldiers in protecting their country from harm.
