Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army on Saturday killed at least 9 Al-Shabaab fighters and injured others during an operation at area near Janale town in lower Shabelle region.
Odowa Yusuf Rage, SNA Chief told Somali National News Agency that the forces thwarted the terrorists’ attempt to conduct an ambush attack on ATMIS convey along the way linking Bufow location to Janale town in the same region.
He added that the forces are committed to take action against terrorists attempting to carry out such attacks on either the army or civilians. They even fled their dead bodies at the scene, he said.
SONNA obtained more horrific photos from the battlefield, showing how the terrorist militants were defeated in today’s operation in the area.
The operation comes a week after SNA and Local forces, aka Macawisley officials began the second phase of the total war on Al-Shabaab in regions under Hirshabelle and Galmudug States in the country.
