Information Minister, AU Representative brief the media on the latest military progress

Mogadishu(SONNA)-Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government, H. Daud Aweis Jama and Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia and Head of ATMIS Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine briefed the media on the latest military progress on the war of Khawarij, Shabaab in the country.

The Information Minister, Daud Aweis Jama said in the joint press conference that Somali National Army with the Support from the locals and  International Partners killed 323 Kharijites(Al-Shabaab militants) in operations in the last seven days.

He said that the joint forces’ operations were conducted in Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Southwest and Jubaland States, saying they are going on successfully.

On his side, Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine commended the ongoing military operations against Al-Shabaab militants in the country, saying Somalia’s first enemy is Khawarij and the second is the drought.

Mr. Mohamed said that ATMIS supported Somali National Army in area of logistics, saying they would apply ATMIS exit strategy by December, 2024.
