Mogadishu (SONNA) – Danab Commandos of the Somali National Army have carried out a planned operation in areas under the control of Middle Shabelle region, where terrorist militants were hiding.
The operation was carried out by the Special Forces in the areas of Basro Daniga, Balow, Bulo Xaanshooley and Garas Weyne, and was aimed at destroying terrorist bases in those areas.
Al-Shabaab militants had hideouts in the attacked areas to extort money from the poor.
Officials from Danab Commandos said the operation went as planned and will continue until the insurgents are eliminated.
