Mogadishu(SONNA)-Jubaland State forces on Tuesday arrested several Al-Shabab militants in on-going operation aimed at ensuring the security and fight against Al-Shabab in some neighborhoods in Kismayo town, the administrative capital of Jubaland State southern Somalia, officials said.
Jubaland State Security Agency said in a statement this morning that the forces arrested several terrorist militants of Al-Shabab and pursued others in the town at moments, asking the residents to work with forces in the operation.
“We arrested several Al-Shabab militants in an on-going security operation at some neighborhoods in Kismayo town and we are still pursuing some others who are hiding, we call for the residents to support the forces in eliminating remnants of the militants”, the agency said in a statement.
The operation, which started yesterday, is still going on there according to the security agency.
