Mogadishu(SONNA)The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, attended today on Sunday the swearing-in ceremony of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission, noted that the government and people of Somalia have taken fruitful steps towards financial transparency, good governance and democracy.
The President highlighted the Federal Government of Somalia’s commitment to fight corruption and misuse of public resources, highlighting the importance of the Commission to the people of Somalia to ensure accountability and transparency in financial institutions of the country.
“Today you have been sworn in with great national responsibility. We look forward to reaffirming the aspirations of the Somali people for strengthening accountability, protecting public property and eradicating corruption that has delayed the development of our country. ”
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo urged members of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission to strengthen the confidence of the Somali people, with the nine members of the commission being sworn in by the country’s Chief Justice, Bashe Yusuf Ahmed.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by the Minister of Justice of the Federal Government of Somalia, HE Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and his Deputy, H.E Abdiaziz Mohamed Mohamud, the Minister of Finance, H.E Abdirahman Duale Beyle, the Attorney General, H.E Suleiman Mohamed Mohamud, the Somali Police Force Commander, Major General Abdi Hassan Mohamed.
