Mogadishu (SONNA)-The Chairman of the Federal Electoral Commission, Mohamed Hassan Irro, and members of the Federal Electoral Implementation Committee met with Massimiliano Bertollo, the Italian Deputy Ambassador to Somalia, SONNA reported.
The importance of implementing the September 17th agreement between the Federal Government and Federal Member State and election process were discussed upon.
The chairman of the committee Mohamed Hassan Irro thanked the Italian government for its role in supporting Somalia and promised to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Massimiliano Bertollo commended the work done and the efforts of the Electoral Commission, and stressed the need for free and fair elections.
“The Electoral Commission are ready for a transparent and timely election, and called on the international community to play its part”, said Hassan Iro
