On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic friendship between Somalia and China, on behalf of the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Somalia and on my own behalf, I have the great honor to convey my warmest congratulations on this remarkable occasion to your excellency and through you to the People’s Republic of China. My best wishes to your excellency and to the great people of China.
I am pleased to note that over the past 60 years, the long standing friendly relations and good cooperation between the Federal Republic of Somalia and People’s Republic of Somalia have continuously developed in many sectors. The Somali Government and Somali people highly value our close cooperation and friendship. I would like to express our gratitude to the government and people of China for the kind support rendered to the people of the Federal Republic of Somalia over the decades.
Somalia will always remain a friend of the People’s Republic of China in facing challenges of the future ahead of us. I look forward to working with you excellency close to further enhance the friendly relations and good cooperation between our two countries for mutual benefit of our two people. May I take opportunity to wish your excellency good health, well-being and success in your noble task.

In the past 60 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations, facing the ever-changing international situations, China and Somalia have always understood, supported and helped each other. During the Beijing Summit of the forum of China-Africa Cooperation in September 2018, I and you reached important consensus on the development of bilateral relations between China and Somalia. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, China and Somalia have worked together to fight the pandemic.
I attach great importance to the development of China-Somalia relationship, and would like to work together with you, taking the opportunity of 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between our two countries, to implement the outcomes of Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on solidarity against Covid-19, and strengthen the cooperation in jointly contribution of the Belt and Road Initiatives, so as to benefit our two countries and our two people.
