Somali, U.S. forces engage insurgents in support of the Federal Government of Somalia

Mogadishu(SONNA)- On the afternoon of 03 January 2020. The Federal Government of Somalia in coordination with its United States partners conducted an air strike on Al Shabaab combatants who attacked Danab and SNA forces conducting patrols near the town of Bariire, around 45 kilometers west of mogadishu.
3 Al shabaab operatives were killed and there were no civilian casualties.
This strike demonstrates FGS and its US partners resolve in its on going effort to bring Al Shabaab to justice, as well as the great lengths that are taken to avoid civilian casualties.
This stands in contrast to the indiscriminate terrorist actions taken by Al Shabaab in its war against the People of Somalia.
