Mogadishu(SONNA)-A plane carrying 97 Somali migrants on Wednesday landed at Aden Adde International Airport in the capital Mogadishu, returning from Libyan where they have been in detentions for more than a year.
“We welcomed 97 Somali Nationals who were in Libyan custodies, The Federal Government worked their release and brought hem back home”, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdisa’id Muse Ali said.
The Somali Government in collaboration with United Nations’ Agency for International Organization for Migration (IOM) returned over 2,5000 nationals from foreign countries to the country back in 2018.
The Government is expected to bring another 100 citizens from Libya soon.
