The event was officially opened by Brigadier General Giuseppe Zizzari, the EUTM-S Mission Force Commander. He emphasized that this was the first-ever Somali joint-forces seminar, marking a historic milestone in national security. The seminar’s goal was to unite and strengthen cybersecurity efforts across all branches of the military.

The seminar brought together 19 representatives from the J6 branch of the Somali National Army, Navy and Air Force, engaging them in specialized sessions aimed at enhancing their cybersecurity and ICT resilience.

The four-day seminar focused on strengthening participants’ expertise in cyber defense, risk management, and the coreprinciples of ICT Security. In line with its mission mandate, the EUTM-S Advisor Teamcontinues to support the SNAF in developing a robust ICT security framework. By enhancing cyber defense capabilities and promoting a culture of information security awareness, EUTM-S remains committed to strengthening Somalia’s resilience against cyber threats and reinforcing the EU’s dedication to stability and security in the region.
