Hiiraan (SONNA) – Emergency water aid has been delivered to communities in areas under Halgan district in Somalia’s Hiiraan region, where residents have been severely affected by ongoing drought conditions.
Hundreds of drought-affected families living in villages near Halgan benefited from the water deliveries, which were provided by Member of Parliament Abdinasir Haji Shirwac.
Local residents and the Halgan district administration expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker for the water assistance extended to families struggling with the effects of the drought in parts of Hiiraan.
Several regions across Somalia are currently facing severe drought that has impacted both people and livestock, while humanitarian efforts continue to provide relief to affected communities.
