Jowhar, (SONNA) — The voter registration process was launched in the city of Jowhar, the capital of the state of Hirshabelle State of Somalia, in preparation for the upcoming elections under the “one-person-one-vote” system.
State officials and hundreds of citizens stood early in long queues in front of the city’s registration centers to actively participate in building governance institutions.
This historic step, which confirms the government’s commitment to holding direct elections, is an important opportunity for citizens to freely choose who represents them in power.
