Jeddah (SONNA) – The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) will organize, on 07 October, a virtual workshop via ZOOM, entitled “The Future of Digital Media Post Coronavirus Pandemic”, in partnership with the Information Department of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Broadcasting Union (IBU).
The workshop will benefit the employees of the member news agencies, and radio and television corporations, as well as newspaper and platform journalists in the Islamic world.
The Union explained in a statement that the workshop will be administered by Digital Media Expert Dr. Ammar Bakkar in Arabic with simultaneous interpretation into English and French.
The workshop is being organizing comes within the outcomes of the Union’s Virtual Media Forum, entitled “The Role of News Agencies in Supporting the Efforts to Combat Coronavirus”, held on 16 May 2020, under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Acting Media Minister Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, who serves as the chairman of the UNA Executive Council.
During the forum, the Union’s training program that aims to develop the capabilities of 2,200 media professionals from the OIC countries, was launched.
