Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Ali Mohamed Omar, hosted a dinner on Monday evening (August 04) in Mogadishu to honor eight newly accredited ambassadors. Earlier that day, the diplomats had presented copies of their credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali.
In his remarks, the State Minister highlighted Somalia’s progress as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. He said, “Somalia’s recovery has been strengthened by the continued support of the international community, and we are grateful for the commitment of our friends, allies, and sisterly nations.”
He urged countries to reopen their embassies in Mogadishu and deepen diplomatic ties, stating that “a stronger international presence in the capital will reflect our shared commitment to stability and cooperation.”
The State Minister thanked the ambassadors for attending the dinner and wished them success in their assignments in Somalia.
