Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The State Minister for Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Omar Ali Abdi, accompanied by SNA Land Forces Commander, Major General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, today held a meeting with a delegation led by Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Abdoulkader Hussein Omar, who is on an official visit to Somalia.
Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral security cooperation and accelerating joint operations to eliminate Al-Shabaab. The meeting followed the recent Defence MoU signed between the two countries concerning Djiboutian troops serving under the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
Minister Omar expressed his gratitude to the Government of Djibouti for its continued support to Somalia and commended the role of the “Hiil Walaal” forces within AUSSOM in advancing peace and stability in the country.
