Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Leader of the SSC-Khaatumo Administration, H.E. Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye), paid a working visit to the Chinese Embassy in Mogadishu, where he held a bilateral meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, H.E. Wang Y.
The two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on the longstanding and strategic partnership between Somalia and China, with a particular focus on fostering development cooperation in the SSC-Khaatumo region.
Ambassador Wang reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting major development projects in Somalia, in line with bilateral agreements and the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He emphasized that these agreements facilitate the implementation of large-scale, sustainable initiatives across the country, including in emerging federal member states such as SSC-Khaatumo.
Firdhiye expressed his gratitude for the ambassador’s warm reception and lauded China’s steadfast dedication to Somalia’s state-building and development journey. He underscored the importance of inclusive development that reaches all regions of the country, especially those recovering from conflict and marginalization.
