Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Speaker of the People’s Assembly of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), held a meeting in his office with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Representative to Somalia, Mahmoud Abdi Ahmed. During the meeting, the Speaker was briefed on the work of the IGAD office in Somalia and the plans set for the year.
The Speaker of the People’s Assembly commended the IGAD office in Somalia for their work, acknowledging Somalia’s active and significant role in building the regional organization IGAD.
The IGAD Representative to Somalia was accompanied by Ambassador Jamal Mohamed Hassan, Director of the IGAD Climate Adaptation Center, and Ahmed Hassan, Advisor to the IGAD Secretary-General.
This meeting underscores the collaborative efforts and the key role that Somalia plays in the regional organization IGAD.
