Hudur, Bakool – A parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe), arrived today in Hudur town, where they were warmly received by the President of South West State, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, alongside senior regional officials and community members.
The official visit by the Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe), marks a significant step in strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Federal Parliament and South West State. The Speaker was accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising federal lawmakers and parliamentary aides.
Upon arrival at Hudur, the delegation was received with a ceremonial welcome led by South West State President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen. The welcoming ceremony was attended by regional ministers, federal and state members of parliament, political figures, senior military officers, and representatives of civil society, reflecting the broad community engagement in the visit.
The Speaker’s visit aims to assess the regional development priorities, engage with local leadership, and promote inclusive dialogue between federal institutions and federal member states. During the visit, Speaker Madobe is expected to meet with local authorities to discuss matters of governance, public service delivery, and ongoing efforts to enhance peace and stability in the Bakool region.
The visit is part of a broader initiative by the Federal Parliament to reinforce its constitutional oversight role by interacting directly with citizens and local institutions. It also underscores the commitment of Somalia’s leadership to fostering stronger intergovernmental relations and ensuring that all regions benefit from national development plans.
The Speaker and his delegation are scheduled to hold a series of consultative meetings with community leaders, elders, women and youth representatives, and security officials during their stay in Hudur.
