Algiers, Algeria – SONNA – The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), along with a delegation of Somali lawmakers, arrived in Algiers today to participate in the upcoming Conference of Speakers of Arab Parliaments.
Upon their arrival at Algiers International Airport, the Somali delegation was warmly received by the Speaker of the Algerian Parliament, Ibrahim Boughali, along with other Algerian parliamentary officials. Also present to welcome the delegation was Somalia’s Ambassador to Algeria, Yusuf Ahmed Hassan (Yusuf Jeego).
The conference, set to officially commence in the coming days, will bring together parliamentary leaders from across the Arab world to discuss pressing regional issues, with a particular focus on the situation in Palestine. Speaker Madoobe is expected to deliver a speech highlighting the importance of the conference for Somalia and its role in addressing key challenges facing Arab nations.
During his stay in Algeria, Speaker Madoobe is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Algerian leaders, including government and parliamentary officials. Additionally, he will engage in bilateral discussions with his counterparts from other Arab nations attending the conference.
This visit reflects Somalia’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and parliamentary ties within the Arab world, as well as its active participation in regional dialogues on peace and development.
