BURHAKABA, Bay Region, Somalia – In an effort to combat the Khawarij threat, the South West State Army launched an operation in areas of Burhakaba District, Bay Region.
Details surrounding the operation remain limited, but reports indicate the army successfully dismantled locations used by the Khawarij to disrupt the local community.
The initiative was spearheaded by Commander Hassan Adan of the Burhakaba District’s Dervish Army.
The Khwarij Group Alshabaab have posed a security challenge in Somalia for years. This operation by the South West forces highlights ongoing efforts to address their presence in the region.
