Beijing, China (SONNA) – The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Adan Macalin Ali, along with his delegation, recently visited the Chinese Government’s Information Management Center in Beijing. The delegation was warmly received by the Center’s officials, who provided an overview of the services and roles the Center plays within the Chinese Government.
The Information Management Center, the largest of its kind in China, is responsible for operating the Chinese Government Database, monitoring government infrastructure, and implementing the National Electronic Program, Digital Services, and Networks across the country.
Minister Mohamed Adan Ma’alin Ali expressed that the visit would significantly benefit Somalia’s digital services. He emphasized that the Ministry is progressing well in implementing the Digital Government and the All-inclusive Digital Policy.
“We have learned a lot from this center. I am honored to see the digital services that facilitate the daily work of the community,” said Minister Mohamed Adan Ma’alin Ali.
In conclusion, the Minister presented a general report to the Center’s officials, detailing Somalia’s efforts in implementing digital programs and e-government services. He also expressed his gratitude for the dignified reception.
The Somali Government has successfully enacted the National Data Protection Law and established a team dedicated to safeguarding national data.
