MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – The Somali Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, recently met with the Saudi Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the two nations. The meeting took place during the second Maritime Transport Conference.
The core of their discussion centered on boosting trade and economic development through enhanced maritime collaboration. Minister Nur presented Somalia’s strategic plans and ongoing projects, which include developing and modernizing the country’s ports, establishing an economic zone, and upgrading transport infrastructure. These initiatives are considered crucial for fostering economic growth and improving regional trade connectivity.
Both officials acknowledged the significance of a lasting strategic partnership to reinforce economic relations and contribute to overall regional progress.
