MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – In a recent diplomatic engagement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Mr. Ambassador Ahmed Maallin Fiqi, hosted Mr. Mohamud Abdi Ahmed, the Head of the IGAD Mission to Somalia, at his office in Mogadishu.
The meeting, which took place yesterday, was a platform for Mr. Mohamud to deliver a congratulatory message from Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, the Executive Secretary of IGAD. The message, sent by the Minister of Jurisprudence, extended best wishes to Minister Fiqi on his recent appointment and expressed hopes for his success in the role.
Key topics on the agenda included discussions on the regional protocol for the crossing of animals and the acceleration of the approval process for the IGAD charter. These discussions are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional integration and cooperation among IGAD member states.
