Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania Attends 47th EAC Council of Ministers Meeting — SONNA
Dar-es-Salam, (SONNA) - Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Ilyas Ali Hassan, participated in the 47th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the East African Economic Cooperation Organization (EAC).
During the meeting, Ambassador Ilyas highlighted Somalia’s ongoing progress and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to implementing agreements signed with EAC member states.
He also pointed out that Somali citizens continue to face challenges in the free movement across EAC countries, despite their strong presence in trade and business throughout the region. The Ambassador stressed that the Federal Government of Somalia is working to remove these barriers as quickly as possible.
Ambassador Ilyas stated, “All EAC member states must lift visa restrictions and travel barriers for Somali citizens to uphold equality and unity across the region.”
