CAIRO, EGYPT – The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ali Abdi Aware, attended the 164th ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States. The ministerial-level meeting was held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
The session focused on a wide range of important issues affecting the Arab world, with a particular emphasis on addressing the shared interests of Arab countries and the Palestinian issue. The meeting provided a crucial platform for Arab nations to coordinate their efforts on regional challenges and opportunities.
Representing Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Aware delivered a comprehensive speech during the session. He outlined the Federal Government of Somalia’s perspective on how the Arab League can best address the challenges it faces. The Ambassador also highlighted Somalia’s commitment to playing a constructive role in the ongoing development and progress within the organization.
Ambassador Aware used the opportunity to urge the member states to ensure the serious implementation of the impactful decisions and resolutions that emerged from the meeting. He specifically called for a renewed focus on improving cooperation among Arab countries to achieve their collective goals. Somalia’s active participation and direct appeals show its commitment to fostering stronger unity and a more effective Arab League.
