Cairo, (SONNA) — The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Amb. Ali Abdi Awari, took part in a meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates held today at the General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo.
The meeting was convened in preparation for the 165th session of the Council at the level of Foreign Ministers, which will be held via video conference.
In a statement, Ambassador Awari said the Council reviewed the draft agenda for the upcoming session, which includes discussions on violations of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states, particularly in light of attacks attributed to Iran.
He reaffirmed the Federal Republic of Somalia’s strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting Gulf countries, describing them as a blatant violation of state sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security and stability.
Ambassador Awari further emphasized Somalia’s full solidarity with Gulf nations and its support for measures taken to safeguard their territories and citizens.
