Mogadishu, Somalia – In a significant development for Somalia’s infrastructure and agricultural prosperity, Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan, Deputy Commissioner of the National Disaster Management Authority (SoDMA), held a pivotal meeting with the Deputy Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, HE. Seif Ali Al-Rashash.
The primary focus of the discussion was the rehabilitation of the Sabun Dam in the Jowhar District. This critical structure, long overdue for repairs, is vital for the irrigation needs of the Middle Shabelle Region’s farming community. The meeting explored avenues through which the UAE Government could assist in the restoration efforts, marking a continuation of their longstanding support to Somalia.
Dr. Adan expressed his gratitude towards the UAE for their unwavering commitment to aiding the Somali people and their government. This gesture not only underscores the robust bilateral relations but also promises to deliver substantial benefits to the remote areas of the country, particularly the South West and Jubbaland administrations.
The collaboration between SoDMA and the UAE is expected to yield significant improvements in the local infrastructure, thereby enhancing the livelihoods of the Somali farmers and reinforcing the bond between the two nations.
