Mogadishu, (SONNA) – In a major stride towards bolstering bilateral relations and advancing defense collaboration, the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Türkiye have formalized a new financial cooperation agreement. This significant accord, focusing on defense cooperation, underscores both nations’ commitment to building a strong, mutually beneficial partnership across various sectors.

The agreement was inked by Somalia’s Defense Minister, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, and Türkiye’s Defense Minister, Yaşar Güler, during a high-level meeting attended by officials from both governments. This signing reaffirms Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s recovery and long-term development efforts.

This latest development is expected to enhance defense capabilities, improve infrastructure, and foster broader cooperation between the two nations, further strengthening diplomatic ties. As Türkiye continues to expand its role in Somalia’s development, this agreement marks a step forward in the growing strategic relationship between the countries.
