Istanbul, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with his Turkish counterpart, HE Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Dolmabahçe Presidential Office in Istanbul, the leaders discussed bilateral relations and international developments.
President Hassan Sheikh briefed his counterpart on the offensive victories gained and the areas liberated by the Somali National Army with the assistance of the brave local residents who wanted to be free from the decades-long torment they faced.
The Turkish President applauded the progress of the fight against the Al-Shabaab militants and the readiness of the locals to eliminate the terrorist threats to their nation.
The two leaders agreed to accelerate the cooperation and the Turkish involvement in assisting in the fight against the terrorist militants.
