Dar es Salaam, (SONNA) – The Federal Republic of Somalia and the United Republic of Tanzania signed the Resolutions of the Experts’ Meeting in Dar es Salaam to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation, following a technical session between the two sides and in the presence of H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, and Hon. Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of Tanzania.

The resolutions pave the way for the launch of direct flights between Mogadishu and Dar es Salaam in the coming weeks. The route will be operated by Air Tanzania, aiming to boost connectivity, trade, and mobility between the two nations.

Both countries also agreed to renew the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA), originally signed in 1975, reaffirming their joint commitment to maintaining international aviation safety standards.

The documents were signed by official representatives from both sides, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation through practical and forward-looking initiatives.
