Pretoria, (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held a bilateral meeting today in Pretoria with the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Ronald Lamola. The discussions were centered on reinforcing the historical relationship between Somalia and South Africa, aiming to develop effective multidimensional cooperation.
The two ministers addressed the expansion of cooperation in various sectors, including trade, education, health, human capacity development, and agriculture. They emphasized the importance of implementing effective measures that yield tangible results for both nations’ citizens.
Minister Abdisalam expressed gratitude to the South African Government for its consistent support of the principles of independence, unity, and security for Somalia.
Both parties reiterated their commitment to continuing collaboration and alignment on shared positions in regional and international forums, particularly on issues concerning peace, stability, and sustainable development.
