MADRID, Spain – The Director General of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdullahi Hayir Duale, is currently leading a high-level delegation at a prominent Cultural and Tourism Exhibition in Spain. The Somali team has utilized this global platform to present a vibrant display of the nation’s rich heritage, specifically highlighting its unique cuisine, traditional customs, and untapped tourism potential.
Speaking from the event, Director General Abdullahi Hayir Duale reported that the Somali pavilion has become a focal point of interest, drawing in numerous visitors and representatives from major international tourism companies. The display of Somali culture effectively captured the attention of the global audience, serving as a bridge to introduce the world to the positive narratives of the Horn of Africa nation. Capitalizing on this engagement, the Director General held productive discussions with various participants and investors from different countries, urging them to explore the vast investment opportunities available within Somalia’s recovering tourism sector.
Mr. Duale also extended his gratitude to the Somali Aviation and Tourism Agency (SATA) for their critical role in facilitating and streamlining Somalia’s participation in this prestigious Spanish fair.
