Mogadishu, Somalia – The Africa Connect Conference, a cornerstone event for Africa’s technological advancement, was recently held in Nairobi. The conference was graced by the inauguration of Kenya’s President, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, and witnessed the participation of various dignitaries, including Somalia’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Communications and Technology, MP Ahmed Osman Diriye.
The conference served as a melting pot for Ministers of Communication and Technology from African governments, leaders of ICT companies, and pioneers in digital innovation. It provided a platform for discussing strategies to bridge the digital divide and foster connectivity across the continent.
Minister Diriye took the stage to highlight Somalia’s significant strides in expanding internet communication and broadcasting to remote villages, a move that aligns with the nation’s digital aspirations. His presentation underscored the Somali Government’s commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure, bolstering internet security, and nurturing digital skills among its populace.
