Adale, Middle SONNA – March 20, 2025 – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Adale district on Thursday, where he was warmly received by Hirshabelle State President Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlawe) and other local officials.

The visit marks a significant step in the government’s efforts to bolster security and stability in the region. President Mohamud’s trip to Adale comes amid ongoing military operations aimed at eradicating the Khawarij from Hirshabelle State and other parts of the country.

Upon his arrival, President Mohamud held a high-level meeting with President Ali Guudlawe and the Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA) Land Forces. The discussions centered on strategies to accelerate the ongoing offensive against the Khawarij, with a focus on enhancing coordination between federal and state forces to ensure the success of the operation.

President Mohamud emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in the fight against terrorism. He commended the efforts of the Somali National Army and regional forces in liberating territories previously held by the militants. The President also reiterated the government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region, enabling communities to rebuild and thrive.

The visit to Adale emphasizes the federal government’s dedication to addressing security challenges and supporting regional administrations in their efforts to combat extremism. It also highlights the critical role of local leadership in achieving lasting peace and development.

As the operation against the Khawarij continues, the federal and state governments remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate the threat of terrorism and create a safer future for all Somalis.
